I got an online request from a nice lady who was writing a book and needed someone to design the cover and make a website for the book launch.

I was excited to take on this project as it was my first book cover and I thought it would be a neat addition to my portfolio. Below is clients take on her experience with Amarillo Graphics.

Our design process is extremely professional and streamlined. It starts with us sending you an electronic invoice for the first 50% of the project. This can be paid online even with a Credit Card. Once we receive payment for the project we are able to get the ball rolling.

STEP 1: The first thing we do is purchase a new domain name and hosting for your website through Godaddy. Almost every last client who comes to us for a revamp has an existing domain name they are using or want to use, and that is great. But we still get them at least one new domain name for the basis of SEO. Think of it this way, if your driving down the highway and you see a billboard for Advanced Leveling that is great, but if your driving a little bit further and you see another one that is even better.

The same concept applies to your website, having one domain name is great, but having another one (since they are only $9 a year) does wonders. It allows us to focus on a specific area or keyword to assist in your Search Engine efforts. So first step is finding a solid domain name.

STEP 2: Along with you domain name we also purchase hosting through Godaddy. They are the most affordable solution out there, their deluxe hosting package that will fit your growing needs runs around $80 per year. Step one and 2 will take about 24 hours to set up.

STEP 3: This is the step that separates the Men from the Boys. This is the step where we go into your newly set up account on Godaddy and set up your database. Your database is what is going to be used to store information collected on your site. We will be able to tailor this to collect any type of info that is vital to your business. Having a solid database is like having a solid foundation in your house. And just like a house, if you don’t have a solid foundation your whole design can be effected. We have over 16 trusted years in database work that will ensure you don’t lose any information, that your website is NEVER hacked, and that its available 99.99% of the time. This step will take 48 hours.

STEP 4: This is when we design your framework. This is when we layout the features that this website will have (the ability to have photo galleries, SEO, video player options) and also design your admin area. In keeping with the house building analogy this is when we put up the walls, do the plumbing, wiring, and put your roof on. This step will take another 48-72 hours.

STEP 5: Our house is almost done, this is the step when we finally visit with you about the carpet you would like, tile, what color you would like the walls painted, and which direction you would like the pool to face. Since this is a Content Management System many clients like to go through training at this point so they can actually start putting in some content themselves. In this step we make sure we adjust the site to look and feel the way you are proud and happy with. But as you can see from the above steps we have handled the bulk load of the design process without taking any additional time out of your day.

STEP 6: If we have not already gone through training with you, we make sure we go through training with you at this point. We make sure go at your pace and answer any questions that might come up. We also make any changes or edits that you might require at this point. After final sign off and your ready to go live with your website we can point your existing domain name over to this new site.

And that’s it, it really is that simple. We promise a very smooth design process that allows you to handle your normal day to day without having to micromanage the status of your website.

After your new website is up, we offer other optional services for our clients like Facebook Management and Content Management for an additional charge.
